Welding II

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Welding I.

Credits: 2 1/2 Credits

Articulation to Waubonsee Community College? YES

Description: This course will utilize the concepts practiced in Welding I with more in-depth specialization. A higher level of competency is expected. The course material will be developed around problem solving fabrication equipment, operational procedures, production layout, technical functions, and specific applications. Students must supply their own safety glasses, heavy gloves, work shirt, and necessary tools and materials.

Teaching Philosophy

Education

Teacher certified in agriculture and ag mechanics with endorsements in language arts and social studies. Additionally, Mr. Heinsohn holds a type 75, administration, certification.

Experience

Mr. Heinsohn has been teaching career and tech ed classes at the high school level since 1983. He taught in the Belevidere, Galena, Naperville, Kirkland, and DeKalb/KEC districts before joining Fox Valley Career Center.

Responsibilities

Mr. Heinsohn helps students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to work at an entry level in the small engine repair and welding trades.
