Description: This course focuses on the landscape, nursery and turf segments of the horticulture industry. Units of study include unidentified landscape plants, designing landscape plans, hardscape construction techniques, and installing landscape plants. Also included are nursery product, turf grass production, tool maintenance, and maintenance of existing landscapes. Agribusiness units will cover calculating prices for work, managing a horticulture business, advertising and sales. Ipmproving computer and workplace sklls will be a focus. Participation in FFA (Future Farmers of America) student organization activites and SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) projects is an integral course component for leadership development, career exploration and reinforcement of academic concepts.
