Teaching Philosophy "Students learn best by example. Hands-on learning opportunities provide optimal retention and learning. I encourage students to share their thoughts, beliefs, and opinions to better enable them to care for a diverse patient population in the clinical setting. This also helps them to better understand the multicultural diversity of healthcare in the world." Education
Experience Prior to teaching, Mrs. Alterie worked as a registered nurse in the acute health care setting. Her area of expertise was in cardiac care and medical-surgical nursing. Mrs. Alteries has been with Fox Valley Career Center since 1993. Responsibilities Mrs. Alterie prepares students to function independently in the role of Nursing Assistant in a healthcare facility. She introduces students to the healthcare field by offering internship opportunities while preparing students to provide basic hands-on healthcare skills.
